We devote almost all of our time to civil appeals. Charlie Wiggins has practiced law for over 30 years and has handled hundreds of appeals in all areas of the law. While his practice now is exclusively civil, he has handled criminal appeals in past years. He devotes substantial time to the improvement of the administration of justice, through teaching lawyers how to handle appeals, bar association activities, the American Judicature Society, and pro bono work.
Ken Masters has handled roughly 200 civil appeals in many legal areas, but he also enjoys assisting trial counsel with briefing on potential appellate issues. He is has taught dozens of seminars on appellate writing and advocacy, has served on and chaired numerous bar association committees, and actively pursues pro bono work.
Shelby Frost Lemmel has focused on civil appeals since joining the firm, handling all aspects of appeals. She won the Tausend Appellate Moot Court Competition in law school. She continues to build her reputation as an effective advocate in Washington's appellate courts.
We work as a team on our appeals, with one lawyer having primary responsibility for a case, assisted as needed by the others.
